alinma Launches “Amad Craft” Exhibition at Riyadh’s Sports Boulevard

As part of its efforts to empower artisans and promote the sustainability of the handicrafts sector, alinma Bank inaugurated the “Amad Craft” exhibition at the Sports Boulevard in Riyadh. The launch was attended by Dr. Jasser Al-Harbash, CEO of the Heritage Authority; Mr. Ahmed Ali Al-Suwailem, CEO of the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development; Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Nasser, Head of the Retail Banking Group at alinma Bank; along with the alinma’s Social Responsibility team.

The launch event showcased the outcomes of the “Amad Craft” initiative, which began at its first training and production center in Al-Ahsa. The initiative has trained 95 male and female artisans through specialized programs in traditional crafts such as Sadu weaving, gypsum work, and palm frond crafts, and has developed more than 230 products that blend heritage with modern design. It has also created employment opportunities for 44 artisans within production operations and established a packaging and processing facility, contributing to the development of an integrated value chain for the handicrafts sector.

The “Amad Craft” initiative represents a comprehensive development model that enhances the quality of life for artisan families, strengthens the competitiveness of local products, and supports the growth of handicrafts as part of the creative economy—ultimately reinforcing cultural identity and increasing the sector’s contribution to the national economy.
