Alinma Bank Supports \"Community Fund\" for Those Affected by COVID-19

As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, and in line with its position as a leader in charitable initiatives, Alinma Bank has contributed SAR 5,325,000 to the Community Fund for those needy individuals who have been impacted by the spread of COVID-19 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Speaking about the donation, Alinma Bank CEO, H.E. Mr. Abdulmohsen Al-Fares, said that the bank remained committed to society, and that providing assistance during such critical times of need, was a top priority for Alinma.  He further lauded the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the General Authority of Endowments, who established the Community Fund with the aim of enhancing national participation in mitigating crises and disasters. Al-Fares also praised the strong and effective steps taken by government to fight the spread of the virus, placing human life and dignity above all else.

Under its mandate, the Community Fund ensures that those in need during times of crisis are provided with necessary humanitarian assistance, with a focus on individuals with disabilities, families of prisoners, the elderly, small business owners, the unemployed, and others across various fields such as relief and social work, education, health awareness, technical services, service industry workers, and others.

Alinma Bank has made other significant contributions to the COVID-19 fight including a SAR 8.5 million donation to the Health Endowment Fund, and support for the Charitable Society for Patient Care (Enaya) and its initiative to provide in-home kidney dialysis, with a SAR 1 million donation to help fund dialysis team activities including transportation costs when hospital treatment becomes necessary for the most vulnerable patients.

To ease the financial burdens some are experiencing as a result of the crisis, Alinma Bank has also  postponed payment of financing installments for SMEs for a period of six months, and for health sector workers for a period of three months, in recognition for their considerable efforts in the fight against the pandemic.
