Alinma Bank Donates SAR 1 Million to National Campaign to Support the Syrian People

Alinma Bank has donated SAR 1 million to Saudi Arabia’s national campaign to support the Syrian people. The effort was initiated recently by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Ibn Abdulaziz and is being executed under the supervision of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.

With need in Syria consistently outpacing funding, and with winter intensifying in the region, threatening to worsen the living conditions of hundreds of thousands of civilians, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has issued repeated calls for donations. Saudi Arabia has given generously to the UNHCR in the past and, through its current campaign, will positively impact the current crisis, thanks to donations from individuals as well as from corporate institutions such as Alinma Bank.

Speaking about Alinma’s donation, the bank’s chairman, Engr. Abdulaziz Al-Zamil, emphasized his organization’s commitment to worthwhile causes.

“Alinma Bank is, if anything, an institution that cares,” said Al-Zamil. “This is something that is at the core of how we approach business and it, furthermore, drives us to be socially responsible at the same time.”

“When King Salman launched this latest effort on behalf of the Syrian people, it was only natural for us to participate,” Al-Zamil continued.  “All of us have a responsibility to humanity; and the Syrian people are most deserving of our support, given the dire nature of the ongoing crisis.”

Al-Zamil went on to thank the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown Prince, for providing effective ways to address charitable needs both inside Saudi Arabia and in the broader region.
