Under the patronage of the Prince of Medina Alinma Bank sponsors the endowments libraries in Medina

15 Rajab 1439 H - 01 April 2018 G

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman, Alinma Bank has signed an agreement with the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) to sponsor its museum, activities and publications of its libraries in Medina for SAR 3 million riyals.   The sponsorship will help enable Darah to execute the important work of restoring  and bringing to the public, for the first time in history, rare Koranic manuscripts, as well as unique artifacts from the life of the Prophet Mohammed and the early era of Islam. All will be available for public viewing at a dedicated exhibition in Medina.

Speaking about the sponsorship, Alinma Bank Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Abdulmohsen Al-Fares said that the bank was proud to be associated with such a worthwhile and religiously and culturally significant effort.  He went on to express thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, who has been the driving force behind the foundation and its projects.  Al-Fares further noted that Islamic cultural heritage is being preserved and maintained through the foundation, and that the sponsorship would assist in elevating important aspects of the Prophet Mohammed’s life and would reinforce the centrality of the city of Medina to Islamic civilization and Muslim life.

The exhibition will provide researchers, academics, specialists and students with unprecedented access to rare artifacts that will enhance their ongoing work in the development of Islamic and historical disciplines.  Likewise, visitors to the endowment’s museum will have the opportunity to explore a vast collection of rare and noteworthy Islamic artifacts and original manuscripts.  Tours will also highlight the processes involved in restoring various artifacts.
